New for 2023: seasonal writing courses at the Beachy Head Story exhibition (with our Writer in Residence)
With this programme of writing workshops, we’ll explore the fascinating and complex landscape and heritage of Beachy Head over the course of the year, looking at aspects of geology and archaeology, social history and the natural environment. Each workshop will be layered with poetry and prose and stories to inspire the writers in us
Monday 17th April, 10.30am - 12.15pm: The Nature of Spring (A Nature Writing Session)
Monday 15th May, 10.30am - 12.15pm: Free Traders, Redcoats and the High Price of Revolution (a Napoleonic legacy on the coast of Eastbourne)
Monday 19th June, 10.30am - 12.15pm: The Spirit of the Downs (a peopling of the landscape from the ancient to the modern)
Monday 17th July, 10.30am - 12.15pm: Beacons of Beachy Head (guiding lights on a rocky shore)
